This stunning modern puff quilt pattern designed by Art Gallery Fabrics is a totally new take on the puff quilt world!
This beginner friendly pattern is a fun way to experiment with the world of puff quilts and learn the technique of strip piecing. The tutorial video can be found on Art Gallery Fabrics YouTube channel under "How to Make a Modern Puff Quilt." The written pattern is provided in the drop down menu under the YouTube video.
Finished Size: approx. 45” x 57”
Ideal as a picnic blanket or throw quilt.
I will be leading a video tutorial sew along for this quilt in September for anyone looking for a little more guidance and to connect with other quilters trying out this awesome pattern.
Just a note to those new to quilting, pre-washing your fabric is totally up to you & how you want your finished product to look. The key is either pre-washing all or none of your fabric (so either wash all of the quilt top, backing & binding fabric, or don't wash it). If you are using the pre-cut 3 1/4" strips for this pattern, do not wash them before they are pieced (sewn together) or they will fray. You can pre-wash the 6" pieces but I don't recommend it as there is a risk of fraying + Art Gallery Fabrics have very minimal shrinkage so the quilt will look almost the same regardless of washing.
Glow Quilt Kit Options
All kits (including backing + binding) are an exact replica of the fabrics used by Art Gallery in the photos shown, as listed in their YouTube tutorial.
The Cut for you 3 1/4"
- This kit is perfect if you want to start sewing right away and are comfortable having the exact amount of fabric needed for the quilt top. I created this kit for those looking for a more affordable option and for anyone with limited capacity for cutting
- What's Included:
- Quilt Top: Twenty, 3.25" strips cut and ready to be pieced
- Binding: 11" x 42" of Art Gallery's Chocolate 422 (enough for your to cut your own binding strips + a little extra in case mistakes are made)
- Things to note:
- The pre-cuts are not washed and should only be washed once the quilt is finished
- If you would like a different binding color please e-mail me before or after purchase with a selected binding fabric that's currently listed as available in the shop.
- Backing fabric and stuffing are not included
The Cut for you 3 1/4" with slight variations in fabric
- This kit is the exact same as the above Cut for you 3/14" kit but it includes a duplicate of one of the bottom 3 purple pieces of fabric because I didn't have enough fabric to create an exact replica for the last few kits I have available.
- You will receive the 19 colours that are an exact replica of the Glow Quilt pictured, and 1 duplicate of the bottom purple colours, plus the chocolate binding fabric.

The Pre-Cut 7"
- This kit is a great fit if you love the look of the quilt top but want to pick your own binding & backing + like to have control over your own cuts.
- What's Included:
- Quilt Top: Twenty, 7" x 42" long pieces for you to cut & have pieces left over that are large enough for another project
- Things to note:
- Binding, Backing fabric and stuffing are not included
